Qualifications to Apply
To Qualify for our program, you must answer YES to All the questions below:
1. Children age out of SPDS the September after they turn three. Thinking about September 1st, will your child be younger than three?
2. Are 18+ years old with a High School diploma or GED?
3. Are you willing to volunteer for one 9-hour weekday each week in our Christian, faith-based childcare facility to receive 5 days of FREE childcare so you can work or go to school?
4. Are you willing to take 30 classroom hours of Early Childhood Education courses to have a spot in this program? (Note: Coursework is completed on site and includes Pediatric CPR & First Aid training. We provide childcare during training.)
5. Are you employed at least 25 hours per week or enrolled in an accredited university or trade school part-time/full-time?
6. Does your household fall within the 200% poverty category? Click here for current poverty guidelines.
7. Are you willing to provide proof of employment and income or school enrollment quarterly?
8. Are you willing to complete a background check and drug test as part of your enrollment as a Parent Educator? (This includes paying a one-time $40 fee to a fingerprint company called Identigo. We cover the drug test fee.)
9. Do you have reliable transportation?
